Core charges are a pain, but they are a necessary part of our business. We require cores to be acceptable. That means the part must match the part number / application of the one that was purchased and the part must be able to be rebuilt with the standard amount of parts. Examples of cores that are not acceptable would be water damaged, fire damaged, parts broken that are not typical. If you are not sure if your core would be acceptable give us a call. If the part you are sending us came off a recently running engine and has not sat unused for years, it typically passes. To offer competitive pricing we have to be able to rebuild your part for the next customer. Be assured that the products we rebuild and sell are as good or better than new condition! Look closely at the product description for any special core requirements.

• Please return cores in the same box as they were shipped to you.
• Package them well so they don’t get damaged during shipment.
• Drain any fuel or oil, please cap it off and place it in a plastic bag so it doesn’t leak.
• Enclose a copy of the invoice along with the core you are returning. This will let us know who to give core credit back to.
• Include contact information so we can call and get a credit card number to apply credit to. We do not keep credit card information on file.

To receive full core credit back, acceptable cores must be returned and received by Huckstorf Diesel within 30 days of purchase. Any cores returned in 31 to 60 days from purchase will only get 50% credit back. There is no core credit given for cores returned in 61 days or longer.
