AFE Improving Air Flow to Ford 6.0L Engines
The Cummins engine is a great power plant with all kinds of potential waiting to be released. The factory intake manifold was designed more for space limitations in mind than for air flow. At stock power levels this is not an issue, but when power upgrades are introduced a greater demand for air is the result. Upgrading the intake manifold is an easy way to improve the engines breathing ability.
AFE applied their team of air flow engineers to the task of improving air flow into the Cummins engine. Great improvements were made in the air cleaner systems, and they also found that improvements in the intake manifold resulted in as much or even better gains! The problem with the factory manifold is that it has sharp turns which are restrictive and cause turbulence in the air stream. AFE uses their multiple directional vane technology with gradual turns to create a smooth air flow stream. An amazing flow increase of up to 63% was achieved. This is a simple upgrade that is a must for any hard working Cummins engine!
